awhile back i bought a 12 foot bateau and got a notrized bill of sale on the boat, so i go to the wildlife and fishieers to get it transferred and turns out the boat isnt in the name of the guy i got it from, the wildlife and fisheries wont tell me the name of who the registration is in for purposes of it may be stolen and will forge the siginture, but i was told an wildlife and fishieres officer can run the boat numbers and may tell me the name the papers are in, anyway does anyone know a way i can find out who its for so i can get a bill of sale from them? or what should i do?

you can go to a notary and fill out an affidavit of ownership. by doing so you are stating that to the best of your knowledge it is not stolen and boat can be registered . send that in with boat registration papers filled out .i may be forgetting something. but you can pm tenpoint he went through it and knows exactlly what to do.
