The tournament was held today in San Leon (just south of Kemah, TX) great turnout over 61 teams for the artificial division another 40 or so for the open. I put together a team of members from my website. We fish Galveston which is basically where the tournament was held, Team FishWestEnd ended up with 22.94 LBS (3 trout, 2 reds - 5 fish stringer max) which was good enough for 1st place!! We even bought our team last night in the Calcutta which more than doubled our winnings!! I will post pics once I get them, I had to brag about my guys!!!

I just heard some disturbing news regarding this tournament.

This was a tournament to benefit the 100 Club & Military Moms & Wives of Brazoria County (WHICH IT DID)

However, I saw this statement this morning:

Thanks again to all that participated, sponsored, and donated to Tails & Tunes. After the 2011 event, we were able to donate $6,590.00 to beneficiaries. Our service men & women surely appreciate it, as we appreciate them. We're looking forward to next years event, and hope to see ya'll there!

The $6,590.00 figure does not include the $3,410.00 that we're owed from the Topwater Grill. Not sure when, or if, we'll get that check since they won't return our phone calls or emails...

I personally will never eat there or visit that place again. Apparently they are giving the owner until Monday but I was disgusted this morning reading this. They already had plans to switch venues next year yet another reason.
