I don't understand these guys on "Deadlist Catch". They hire on these boats Knowing full well the risks and yet they complain and bellyache. I spent a year in Nam and got wounded and then after I recouperated I joined the Mercahnt Marine and went through 6 months (still have a B book) (ordinary seaman) of training @ Harry Lundenbergs school of seamanship in New orleans. Then I was asigned to the SS Achillies A super tanker that left out of Martinez Ca. and went to Homer Alaska up in the cook inlet. I did this for 2 and a half years, 2 weeks up and 2 weeks back in the Bearing Sea. Rough s***. I remember getting sea sick for 21 days streight. I constantly was eating crackers to have something to throw up or you would get the dry heaves. NOT funny. |

I think some of the antics are for the camera. I agree though, they know what the job requires before they board the ship. |
