Lookin' to go there on vacation this month and that's where we're headed.

Would like to hear from people on MMT that have been there so we can find out what to see, what to stay away from etc.

i went on spring break last year. Definetly go white water rafting. i think its like an hour away but i would highly recommend it. I also went flyfishing with a guide right up the mountain in gatlinburg. Caught a few trout, werent big but it was definetly a new experience for me. Also took helicopter tour of gatlinburg, dollywood was closed when i went so i didnt get to go there. A very nice place though.

On the way back, make sure you don't break down in Chatanooga on a Sunday afternoon, in your Mom's really cool minivan with a Jack in the Box head on the antenna and then let a homeless guy fix your wheel bearing in exchange for leftover beer, food and cigarettes.

I'm just saying.

Barrelcooker's spot on.

If you want, I'll get the name of the guide my buddy uses for Rockfish (they call em stripers) and you catch some toadhoppers!

Barrelcooker is right- it has some heavy tourist trap elements.

It isnt too far from there to Cade's Cove in the park. It is an awesome place to visit and late this month, there might some decent velvet racks running around if your interested.

PS- If you want to hook to my new rig bout' that time and bring it north, I'd be very appreciative- Heck, I'd even treat you and your family to Memphrica's finest ribs!

Tony, PM Leatherneck, he spent a week there and found a nice cabin that would let him bring his lab.

Lots to see & do Tony. Beautiful country.

Went whitewater raftin last time. Definitely a hoot. I'll do that again.
Cade's Cove is a great outing for a day. Several hiking trails if y'all wanna do any of that. Saw several wall hangers in the fields. Got some great photos.
Traffic is a bear. When you exit the interstate, the main drag that takes you through Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg is packed. But it's been a few years ago. Maybe it's improved since then. I was happy to use the trolley service. It will take you most places in town.

As has been mentioned, there are a lotta tourist traps. But there is a lot of cool stuff that you won't see anywhere else.

Hope y'all enjoy it.
