Why in the hell do they make a trailer galv. but use zinc plated hardware. Where can i get a galv trailer with stainless or galv hardware? Breau and Daigle said it doesn't exist. Geralds has a salt water edition, that will take 3-4 weeks to get in and boat should be ready before then, Claude's took my info and will give it to someone who knows more about them to call me back. Anyone else.........
If I would have known this i would have ordered my trailer a month ago.
And why don't they come with a spare tire. Is America that screwed up?

Willet, want a job?

Hot dipped galv and zinc plated hardware is a big difference in rust prevention.

Post subject:  Re: trailer shopping sucks

The point was that Galvanizing is a "ZINC" plating process.

Also, genius, maybe you can explain to the class how you would "hot dip" a bolt and nut and then get them the thread onto each other.

Got Dayum I am going to stop talking to anyone on this board except Coondik.

McClain has a decently priced Dealer trailer...aluminum (bolted together) w/ salt water package...all stainless hardware-

Some hate em...I'm perfectly happy with mine....it gets my boat there-

I got the Magic Tilt from PD.It is a nice looking aluminum trailer but the SOB has way too much flex in it.I have not had any problems with it just think the craftsmanship could be better.

Post subject:  Re: trailer shopping sucks

a real heavy duty custom trailer has enough meat on it, it can afford to rust for da rest of ur lifetime and still never give u trouble.

Post subject:  Re: trailer shopping sucks

Yeah, for what some of these trailers sell for now, you can get a custom one built that will last you a lifetime and be alot better than one off the show room. I know Rick and the guys can build you whatever you want.

Whatever you do, please dont be like Crews and put a nice looking boat on some nickel trailer!!
