ya so i need a new part-time job for after school im 16 good with my hands can weld use a torch lots of mechanic skills knows some electronics knows good bit of plumbing lots of carpentry skills can operate heavy machinery(excavators,bulldosers etc...) i real am looking for a job for after school from 4:00-till pay realy doesnt mean much right now just as long as its above minimum wage id like to find a job as a shop hand, machine operator, or carpentry. Im a hard diligeant worker and i like to do the job right the first time as fast and correct as i can i live in the lafayette area |

Exactly right on UW bein OVER RATED You can make just as much money on land weldin and be home every night and not have to wonder each day "Am I gonna die today?" Sure you only have to work 6 months outa the year but theres a reason for that...#1 The Risk #2 Being underwater and at high pressures messes with your body once again putting you at risk Like i said you can make as much as you want here on land especially if you travel...however I was goin to school 3 days a week and workin the rest 4 days 12 hou days at power plant 45 minutes away and bringin home almost $2000 a week after per diem As far as not gettin shocked now days MOST of the time they arent actually exposed to the water when welding especially when welding on underwaer pipe they are in a little capsule that goes around the pipe and are completely dry but they still have to learn to dive and get inside the little capsule |

I would be real hesitant about jacking with one of them underwater pipelines. Seen some video of one being cut with some kind of saw and the cut sucked a crab in (yeah crab got sucked in a hole less than 1/4" wide) and heard they have been responsible for doing the same to arms and such of divers  That decompression treatment would suck to |
