I was gonna see what yall though about taking a Geese decoy that are shells and fill them with foam or some kkind of material to make them float? the only thing is the foam might fill with water and sink them just seein what yall think about it because them floating geese decoys arent cheap. |

wouldnt trust the foam to not take on water eventually. maybe those corrugated yard signs. they are plastic with the hollow channels in them. cut to fit the bottom of the decoy and seal the ends of the signs. would think theyd float good. just attach the decoy shells to them. try melting the edges and pinching them closed. should seal them right up. let us know |

A buddy took shells and filled them with expanda foam and cut the bottom out flat withe bottom of the shell. They seemed to work fine for him last season. |

Back in the old days we would take pipe insulation and slip it on the bottom edge of the shells. Then drill a hole every six inches or so and zip tie the foam to the decoy. We mainly did this with super mag shells. We did this to get the flocks to commit earlier and then finished them over the floaters. Worked really good. You should see what happens when a honker falls on them after being shot. Now I have over 200 floaters and rely on them for my magic. |

Mesh bag filled with styrofoam peanuts held in place with a few zip ties. Can get them, peanuts, in bulk at a pack and ship place. That way you could still use them as shells in the future. |
