Post subject:  Brain Teaser Light Quiz
Here is an engineering problem I had in class today. Think hard.

You are in a room in a 4 story building. In the room there are 3 flat panel light switches that are wired to incandescent light bulbs in another room that you can not see. Once you leave the room you can not get back in. There are no windows in your room either. You can not have anyone help you either. How do you know what switch works what light in the other room?


BTW there is an answer to this.

leave one switch off, turn one switch on for 5 minutes and turn the last one on then immediately go in the other room answer:hottest lit light 5 minutes switch, coolest lit light last switch and the light not lit the off switch

I gots one for ya...
You have a cow on the side of your barn. the barn is 100' long x 100' wide x 600' tall ( the answer isn't the roof hints the extremely tall barn ) You need to leave to go get some shells for september 12. ( never too early :mrgreen: ) , but you don't want to leave the cow roamin free. All you have is 200' of rope. Where can you tie the rope to the outside of the barn so the cow can go completely around the barn w/o backtracking?

Tie the rooster out in the water. Dump the corn in the water. Shoot the ducks when they come in. Throw the Coyote in the Wardens boat when he shows up.
