Post Texas boys - hog huntin??
Got a question for you Texas boys. I understand hog huntin at night is legal in your state. How is that regulated??

A bill was introduced last year here in La to allow night time hog huntin, but it never went anywhere b/c of the concern for shootin deer at night.

The LWFC is takin up the hog problem this week at their monthly meetin. I was wonderin what they did in your state.

Any other states that do this??

Courtesy call to the GW if you gonna spotlight (saves GW a trip out) ;)

Other than that I really don't know any other "regulations". Guess you would call it an honor system. I am sure there have been some deer killed by so called nightime hog hunters. :(

According to some the ones of us in "East" Texas are a bunch of tresspassin, spotlightin, road huntin, no deer taggin, go out of our way to do it illegal rednecks. Maybe the GW has done give up

That's cool, just a phone call.

What was proposed here last year was to buy a permit (crooked La politicians gotta make money outta the deal) for each hunt. So it would be a preplanned hunt, filed with the gov't somewhere I guess. But it never went anywhere.

And your description of the illegal guys in "east" Texas....

We got them here too.

The only difference might be the accent

I have not done it in years but the GW's done here never used to bother us.We used to stay late in the stands some nights two hours after dark and it was not a problem. My brother just started hunting the area I used to hunt, put up stands and baiting and the GW's were watching/waiting on the levee and a friend let them know on his way out.The times they are a changing.

You don't have to tell the game warden (course it don't hurt neither).

If we see a hog...we shoot the hog...no matter what time of day or night it is. Our local game warden knows us and where we hunt so we never see him.

Kill all the hogs!!!! :D
