Post subject:  Refinery Test

I just interviewed with an oil/gas company in Houston for a the Senior Environmental Specialist position and they said during the second round of interviews I will have to take a "typical refinery test". Does anybody know what this consists of? Is there something I need to be studying before this test? If anybody knows what a "typical refinery test" is, I figured it would be some of y'all.

Do not worry about it.I work at a refinery and they have been hiring nothing but dumbasses, including myself. The test that I have seen have consisted of problem solving, word problems, reading comprehension, math, and some physics.

Like I said I would not worry about it.The test is just to eliminate the slightly educated idiots who can fill out the application online.I have an interview Monday with Exxon.

GOOD LUCK!

Ive got to ask. Are you applying at Celanese chemical?

Anyways the test is usually common sense mechanical suff, pretty simple. Google the Bendix test maybe it will come up there. If not try contacting Dr. Charles Thomas at Lee College in baytown. They have the test to give to their process tech students.
