Does anyone have one yet? Thinking about buying one today but want some opinions from those that have one. Is the Black with the remote worth it or does the Silver suffice? Also, I've heard negatives about battery life. What are some realistic battery times? |

We may be in the same boat. Long night at Chelsea's in BR. Now eating girlfriend-requested Chinese buffet. |

ive got the black edition, battery lasts about 1.5hrs of being on and basically recording only when the birds were around. silver will prolly be the same way, either way you will need an extra battery. i think you can get the remote for the silver too, definetly need it. i can hang it on my lanyard and turn it on and off without moving and flaring birds. |

I had hero 3 black. My wife got it for me last Christmas. The video was second to none by far. Same day I went to bestbuy and got the LCD screen. Thought it was sweet but starts having problems. I tried to record my second biggest buck with a bow, thought I had everything but after the shot I found that it froze up and didn't get any footage. I was pissed. I called gopro, did the upgraded software and it still kept freezing. I got tired of fighting it and sent it back. I went a cheaper route and got the jvc adixxion. $200 bucks, shoots 1080p, waterproof without a case and uses the standard 1/4" camera mounts so pods and other accessories and cheap and endless. That was my experience. I also didn't like that a deer at 25 yards looked like he was 100 yards away because of the lens. 27 PD FPR 16x36 skiff |

And if I remember correctly, in order for the remote to work you have to be connected to wifi. Same with the iPhone app. 27 PD FPR 16x36 skiff |

I bought one and I'm about to exchange it. It says it's overheating after 10secs of being on and then shuts off! |

I have the silver and love it, takes really good video, i use my iphone to run it pretty much. The remote will work with the silver also, i've never had one freeze up and i've taken some good video. Not saying it doesn't happen though cause anything can happen with electronics. What i like about the gopro is you can mount it just about anywhere and it comes with all kinds of attchments to get every angle possible. |

Have the Hero Black. The new software update fixed the freezing problems. Video is spectacular. Audio with the water proof case is nonexistent. Steep learning curve. Sd micro discs are a pain and corrupt occasionally. Must handle with care and load and eject from computer very carefully following Mac or pc protocol for ejecting a drive. Floatation a must and backup with lanyard. iMovie will choke on the high definition clips if you don't have multi core computer. Rendering movies is a slow process, takes forever. The remote I found not reliable enough to depend on. Everything is so tiny. Have trouble keeping up with all the accessories. It's a Point of View camera and not meant for long range filming. |

I've got 3 batteries cause they last about an hour each. I also GT the supplemental battery pack that adds another hour, approx. The camera is basically made to shoot quick events lie sky diving etc. You can't keep it on in the blind. It's a guessing game when to turn it on. I've got more footage of expectations than actual ducks coming in and getting shot. You almost need a dedicated camera guy in the blind. The LCD screen is nice too. |

Thanks Dean. I'm in line at BestBuy exchanging it now. Guess I got a bad one. It won't even stay on long enough to let me update it. |

All the Hero 3s ive seen have had issues. There are lots of problems with the HD3 - google it - pretty bad so far... The second run will likely have the bugs worked out - wait a few months |

Been playing with this thing for a few hours. Did you know that you can change the video width from wide to medium to narrow using the GoPro app? The wide lens is cool, but can get obnoxious. The narrow lens is much easier on the eyes and had better long distance range. |
