In cold climates, you can always wear more clothing and feel somewhat comfortable. In Louisiana, once you get down to your skin there ain't no more cooling off, except maybe jumping in the water, then again that's warm too most of the time.95 degrees with near 100% humidity is dangerous combination. If it were not for air conditioning, there would be no "Sun Belt". Jean Lafitte the pirate called Louisiana a paradise, except he only visited here in the fall and winter. In the winter it's down right pleasant here...kinda like California. |

Better yet,I made a hunting trip where we were hunting in single digit temps with the wind chill below 0. How the fuck do you deal with that for months out the year? That was miserable, hots nasty but atleast if your stuck outside you wont melt to death. |

A few weeks ago,I ran into a group of Boy Souts and their leaders from Wisconsin who were canoeing a 60 mile journey in the Atchafalaya Basin. They were about to stroke out from heat exhaustion and abandon the whole trek. Don't know if they every finished. They had never experience such heat and humidity before. They had no idea how dangerous their predicament was. They had been forced to wait a long time in a section of the basin where the water lillys had clogged the channel, for the corps of engineers to send a boat to clear a path for them. |

I'm beginning to enjoy the heat actually (never thought I'd say that) don't have a/c at home so i stopped using it in my truck. When i get to work its kind of refreshing to have it, but otherwise i guess i could deal with this heat. Putting waders on to check traps (even breathable ones) usually takes some convincing myself. Not many up here have a/c, don't need it. Usually it's 70 something and 50's at night. I have been out in the heat the last 3 days. I don't wear waders for turtles or early goose, just shirt, shorts and bare feet. Just wondering how you guys do it for months on end. I go stir crazy when I am stuck in the house. |

Our company is being bought out by some Canadians, they were down here touring the warehouses one day when it was 105* in there with high humidity and I shit you not I thought they were gunna die. You just gotta man up and deal with it, you cant even cool off with sweat... It just makes you sticky. I on the other hand could live in 20* weather all year round. |

It's been shitty working the past week that's for sure! Damn ac has been working when it wants to in the squad and they can't see to figure out the problem. Lows in the mid 70's overnight with high humidity makes for some awful sleeping, thank god for central air! Just gotta keep the eye on the prize, in about 3 months we'll have highs in the 40's! |

I'd rather have it be cool out too. Our season starts here August 10 and it's gonna be a hot MFer. It's the kind of weather that will give a guy a bad case of hungry butt pretty quick. But 10 honks a day with no possession limit ain't bad. |

And if that isnt enough for you I build marsh buggies which means getting inside the pontoon baffles and welding. Basically being inside of a 4x5x5 iron box welding and a guy in 5he next one burning wire also. Pretty hot there |

hands down best mosquito spray ever Repel 100 it is like 98.8% deet the more deet it got the better. i whiped my dogs face with it then shortly after whiped my face with it, noticed she started licking her lips like crazy and shaking her head (i was wondering wtf she was doing) then i noticed my lips went numb, and realized that happened to her yea that shit makes your lips go numb its some badass shit, expensive but well worth it we fog our blind with repel fogger and use repel 100 and you can literally see a wall of mosquitos hovering around the blind, its amazing |
