You have my support. I tried for 10+ yrs then switched to snuff. Then laid the can down so much easier for me . Although I don't feel I had a quitting problem as much as I did a starting back up problem. Heck I quit every time I put one out. Regardless you'll be in my thoughts. Good luck.

Thinks about this before you make up your mind. Most of my apprehension of quitting was created in my own mind. I had never really tried to quit in 30 plus years. When I finally set it down, I was my own worst enemy. My mind kept telling me to fail. There were no real huge physical symptoms of wythdrawl. Nothing other than the jitters that last for a little while then go away.
It was me believing it was so hard to quit that made me never even try. Once I did it and faced my fear, there was really nothing to the physical part of it.

I went with nicotene gum, then quickly switched to mixing it with regular. Now I have about 5 sticks of regular gum over the course of a day.

I have been a lot of places and done a lot of things. I am not a sit at home kind of guy. Without naming the places and things lets just agree I have been to the cave and seen hte critter inside. I don't consider any of that an accomplishment. I am more proud of quitting tobacco than any achievement ever before in my life. I think you will too.

And yes I have an ex smoker nose. I literally can tell if somebody in the car in front of me on the highway is smoking, be it the windows are down. And another yes, I am the biggest asshole on the planet when it comes to other smokers around me. You stinkin muther fockers!

 I know the majority of mine is habit but when I feel apprehension about something or get pissed a smoke is the first thing I reach for. I hope to bark the cycle. I'm on 18mgrams right now and once I run this bottle of juice out I'm going to 12mgrams.......and so on til I'm nic free.

Good luck and stick with it. I quit back in 2000 cold turkey, and it was rough for the first three weeks but then it got better. I know several people that have tried the e cig and all but one laid down the real ones for good from the first day. Just make up your mind for good and you can beat it.

I smoked for about 12 years or so, and quit cold turkey. Those things don't work because it's not actually an addiction to nicotine that is hard to quit. The hard part is the habit, so if you really want to quit find a new habit to replace the smokes. I chose sunflower seeds until my cheeks were numb and bleeding. Find your must have cigarettes and find something to do during those times. My hardest were right after a meal and right before I went to bed. Hope this helps and good luck!

Never was a smoker but dipped or chewed since I was 7 or 8. May of 2003, I was dipping 2 cans of Copenhagen a day. I still have the last can I took a dip from so the date is easy to remember. As said above, don't be defeated by your own mind. When you make up your own mind you have it whipped. Good luck.

I have never smoked cigarettes. I have smoked some cigars, pot a few times, dipped copenhagen a few times. It just never held anything for me. I always thought that cigarettes were nasty. Even though I spent a lot of time in bars, I mean a lot of time, I could barely tolerate smoke outside of them. Now my eyes water just walking into a bar.

But after I read about why it was so hard to break the habit, I knew that anyone that quit had my admiration. My brother quit cold turkey, two times. This time it has been about 9 months.

Nicotine is the first part of the habit hard to break.

Having something to do with your hands is also a habit.

But one part no one ever talks about but I found out about is how the breathing in, though all chemicals and bad air, affects the body and mind. Which is one of the hardest parts to break. Deep breathing when wanting to have one was said to help break the deep inhaling.

Good luck.

I don't know you med but , I was a three pack a day smoker and liked it , this went on for 15 years then one day I decided I was done with then , the habit was the hard part BUT what helped me was Peanuts the ones you buy two packs for a dollar that did it after a month it was over no more cravings at all. Ive been smoke free for 12 years now.You should try it and see if it will help you good luck.
