Roger's daddy died.... My sincerest prayers for your family Roger. Former longtime State District Judge O’neal Bacon is dead at the age of 88. Bacon, who was a resident of Newton, died on Thursday evening following a long battle with cancer at Memorial Herman Baptist Hospital in Orange. Bacon, who received a doctor of jurisprudence from the University of Texas at Austin, served in the 1st Judicial District 1 Court serving Jasper, Newton, Sabine and San Augustine Counties from 1960 until his retirement in December of 1990. Funeral services for Judge Bacon are pending at Smith Funeral Home in Newton. |
