 Re: Selling a boat
Just sign over the registration forms (on back) in presence of notary who will put the stamp on it. New owner takes it from there.

 Re: Selling a boat
Just went thru this with a new bay boat I bought out of state. for the buyer------- First need to get a bill of sale done with a notary, bring this and the trailer registration to the DMV, to re- register and pay the trailer tax's at the DMV. The registration certificate that came with the hull numbers has to be signed over to the new owner, and will have to get a application at the wildlife and fisheries to swap the hull registration over ( its the one with a top white sheet and a botm yellow sheet, ya send in the top one and keep the botm till you get your permanent paper work back) both of these will have to be sent to the LADWF. Here's the new deal, you will now have to reister the hull with the wild life and fisheries if the boat is financed, May need to go to the LADWF web site to make sure what is needed in your case. You can print this new form online but I just picked one up at the same time I got the hull # form. Seller-----Bring trailer registration with you and buyer to notary, sign over the hull registration card. Keep copy's!

 Re: Selling a boat
Out of state and currently registered in state rigs are handled a little differently. But everyone wants their piece of the pie in the form of your money.

 Re: Selling a boat
Just did one in state. Bill of sale on boat, bill of sale on trailer, transfer signature on boat registration, signature on trailer title. All notorized. Trailer stuff to DMV. Boat stuff to LDWF.
