I've run several. The Lucas & Diesel Kleen seem to help with the rough idle that occurs from time to time. I've run Howe, and it seems to be more for addressing the ULSD issue, but I still get a rough idle every once in a while. Just bought a bottle of US Lube that I'm trying now. The bottle has a "generic" look as it's plainer than the others, and it's cheaper ($21.99/gal). It says that it helps the ULSD issue as well. Only on my 2nd tank, so it's too soon to tell. What do y'all run & why?? |

i dont use any additives. Just added timing to my motor. Its a little rougher than other 6.7 cummins but its helped out more than it hurt it. |

Bomb I have been running the HPPF additive. I seen over on Powerstroke.org that it tested as one of the best in the diesel additive test. There is a top twenty list over there. I too have used the Diesel Kleen products off and on for several years in my old 7.3. I'm all ears on this one too. Randy |

I bought a bottle of the silver diesel clean for my dads 07 duramax, and after he used it, his mileage bumped up a bit. I cant remember the exact number but he said it helped. |

Not in a truck, but in my diesel car, I run Howe's Meaner Power Kleaner with EVERY tank. Keeps the injectors clean and the fuel pump nicely lubed. Don't have to worry with the anti-gel much living so far south. I also use their Multi Purpose spray to coat my guns when hunting the salt water. I actually had lunch with them today and spent the afternoon in their office. Great products and super people. |

ALL bullshit aside I hear 2 stroke oil is good to for the injectors to stay lubed. Maybe other people will say otherwise, but numerous people I know add it to the Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel to get the Lubricity back. |

The only thing Ive added is 2 stroke oil. About 1 qt per tank. Seems to quiet the motor down a little. Some claim to gain MPG, but Ive never noticed it with the way I drive. |

cackle is more of a sound thing than a physicall feel it in your seat thing. A PSD with cackle is considerablly louder when idling than one without. Some have it and some don't and some have it worst than others. The crossover kits and such are things that some places make and sell. ITP Diesel sells a kit and I think Bob Riely with Diesel Site might carry one too. For those that have the CPS (Cam Position Sensor) fail on them, don't go spend the $175 for the part at Ford. Go to an International dealer and buy one for a IH/Navistar T444E engine, it will run you about $80. ![]() On a side note, if you want to be able to put a new engine belt on without having to remove the upper rad hose, go buy the "ambulance" hose. If you ever wondered what that half circle area below the alternator is, that's where the ambulance version hose passes. Just after the belt it then goes to the radiator. Doesn't pass through the belt like the truck version does. In order to get the truck version belt on and off you have to remove the upper rad hose. The engineer must have slept late when they designed that part. ![]() ![]() |

Read the link I posted and you guys will be amazed. Lucas is probably one of the worst things to add to the diesel for lubricity. |

I use a quart of two stroke oil in my tank. I just use the cheap SuperTech stuff from Walmart. I talk to a lot of big rig drivers at work and a lot of them also use 2 stroke oil and every couple of tanks will run transmission fluid... it lubricates and has the detergents to clean the injecters ect ect Lucas and Marvel Mystery is the devil... Read the link Marcus has posted... its well worth your time. |

bio-diesel is a great cleaning agent. This is why you are to change filters pretty often when first switching to bio-d. It will clean the fuel system like anything else out there. |

I am on my way to pick up a some of the ford additive. I stopped by the local dealership yesterday to pick up a brake caliper bolt and asked about additives. They showed me the ford diesel product and the guy behind the counter said' I'll sell you that for 6 bucks a bottle' I bought 6 bottles. Each bottle treats 125 gallons of fuel. I had to order the bolt and was told it would be here this morning. So I am picking up the bolt and additive this morning. Hey speaking of caliper bolts....right now go out and check to see if yours are tight. I went duck hunting yesterday morning and on the way home I exited the interstate and when I went to apply my brakes I could hear a loud grinding noise. I knew it was not the brakes because I just put new pads on and had the rotor cleaned up a little. I was close to home so I drove slow and tried not to use my brakes. Will when I got home I found the bottom bolt had fallen out and when I applied my brakes the pads would compress pushing the caliper outward and into my aluminum rims. I recently had my front end aligned and starting to think when they put the litlle camber piece in they may have forgotten to tighten the right side up. The left side needed a little snugging up but the right side was floppy. |

I run 40 gallons of BD100 with a quart of used motor oil, filtered and run across a magnet mixed with 8 oz of acetone. I run a 2000 Excursion with a 7.3 I aint had any pump or injector trouble to date. Of course now that I claim no trouble the whole thing is going to crap out on me. |
