Definately get 4ft traps. Usually get about 38 out of a roll. PM sent.

Oh and I wouldn't even attemp to waste my money on traps with out having a real crawfish boat and a picking table. I just might know where you can get one too.

A roll of 4ft coated wire is running 340 to 360 dollars now and you will get about 36 traps out of a roll. You could also buy them for 11 dollars a piece already made. You also have to worry about some asshole stealing the 40 traps that you will have out.Believe you me it will happen if someone sees you and they don't know who you are and you are crossing their run your traps will come up missing..Oh and stay out of the upper spillway every tree has a dam trap on it.IMO if you don't have atleast 100 traps you are wasting your time due to he fact that a roll of wire is 340 dollars and it only takes someone a few minutes to put you 400 dollars in the hole.I am not trying to discourage you just being honest.

This reminds me of making traps with my PAW PAW. He had a peice he made of scraps to make flues. Used that and a coke bottle and hog ringed them together. He used to make traps for himself and many other guys. When I was a youngster I wa the measurer and the cutter for him. We could make some traps in a day.

price kinda depends what wire you buy the thicker coated wire usually is better but is hard to come by and more pricey at the pp store they have some betafence wire that is kinda sorta cheap was between 240-270 a roll last i checked but its kinda crappy not a very thick rubber coating on them but they will work for a few years
