 Super Wader Widgeon Parka
Anyone have one? How do you like it? Thinking bout taking the plunge and getting one... Warmth is not really the issue, staying dry is... Any trouble with them soaking through? They say they 100% water proof and come with lifetime guarantee. But as I think we all know, " The only thing that is 100% water proof is a bull frogs a$$, And that aint 100%" http://www.columbia.com/on/demandware.s ... =1&start=0

Only thing about a "lifetime warrenty" is what is considered a "lifetime" lots of products have lifetime warrentys, but it is in the fine print that a lifetime is X amount of years. Then again if you bring an old craftsman wrench that's been sitting in the bildge of your boat for years, and you can barely see a c on it they'll trade it in for an other. 200 is worth it.

 Re: Super Wader Widgeon Parka
Y'all are talking about 2 different jackets.
TBS - you have the Widgeon (original one). I have a couple of these myself and wore them exclusively for several years. 3 or 4 Years ago, I got a McAlister waxed canvas jacket and haven't worn the Columbia jackets since.
Pintail is talking about the new SUPER Widgeon. I think that it is new this year -- a refinement on the original.
I haven't seen one and don't know anyone that has one, so I can't give an opinion on them. However, like TBS stated, Columbia's customer service is top notch and I would trust them to stand behind their products.
Pintail - have you considered waxed canvas?

 Re: Super Wader Widgeon Parka
I've got and (and have had) a Columbia Widgeon Parka for probably ten years now.....pictured below
I wear it when it is extremely cold and/or extremely wet. It has been worth the investment. It is very warm and waterproof.
But, most of the time, I wear a Filson waxed canvas jacket over layers.....one of those layers being a Filson wool waterfowlers sweater.......another good investment
(damn dog is laughing at my hat)

 Re: Super Wader Widgeon Parka
If you're looking at McAilster.....you ought to look at Filson
"Might as well have the best"
Waxed canvas is a wonderful product. It will last for many , many years. The down fall to waxed canvas is that it doesn't really provide warmth and it doesn't breathe very well. It is meant to be used as a top layer with proper base layering underneath. This is a much forgotten concept by many who have gone to "all in one" products.
I wear my waxed canvas jacket a lot while hunting. I may have just a shirt and light underwear underneath or I may have a thick base layer and a thick warm wool sweater underneath....depending on the circumstance. The downfall is exertion. Since it doesn't breathe well it may not be a good choice to wear on long walks to the blind. You may need to shed it.

 Re: Super Wader Widgeon Parka
I got a green wool sweater at the thrift store and and a hodgeman rain coat(mossy oak) but I ain't never posed for a squatshit shot like the hizzy and I usually stay warm and dry. Maybe I'm missing something.
