I just got off the phone with Coastal. He and his wife are out on the lake fishing right now. They had a good run on the jug lines last night and are trying to catch some crappie right now but they are not cooperating. |

Well the wind was a biatch.....We ended the weekend with 43 catfish.The biggest one was 9lbs.I put 13 quart bags in the freezer. |

looks like Stump has the Stimulator for his avatar. I'm running low on fish myself and went out last week when the river was at 22' [pool is 15'] and set some hoop nets. Well with all this snow melting and rain following the river is now bumping 38'. Not good! My buddy Gary and I went out and tried to drag them up on Saturday but we had high wind and 20 degree temps. With lots of current,wind and the spirit breaking cold weather we were unable to get ahold of them. Our water temp is now 40 degrees. Ben lots of water coming your way. We are going to peak on Tues and start dropping hard after that but with more rain in the picture our drop might be a drip instead. The area I set my hoops in is normally around 12 feet deep and I'm set above a big stump and log bed. My new Lowrance sonar which is a 510c seems to be a fairly good sonar. When we dropped the nets we could see the hoop net,rope and big anchor on the graph. It was showing alot of fish in and around the stumps. I'll be on them when we get a steadier river level. Randy |

Didn't git no head count ... but ended up with 5 one gallon bags that are full !!!! I'll git me some "Wednesday" court bags and freeze the rest in the big bags. No Op tho !!!!  Not yet. Thay will be here a little later !!! Big fish was 28lbs of HyFin and the rest probly averaged 5lbs mostly all HyFin !!!I know that thay is peoples out there that catch more ... catch bigger fish than we do ..... but I bet ya'lls thay ain't nobody that eats 'em as much as we do !!!!!

They was all white meat.Sometimes the big ones have a red strip in them.As you can see i had no big ones. But me and the ol lady had a good time.

Not sure on the temps.It depends what part of the lake.There is a power plant fueld by coal.So its hot on one end and colder on the other.  I catch all my fish at the hot water discharge.Feels like bath water. |

When the water temp is in the 50's here it is wide open for sure. I'm ready to see those water temps but imagine it will be a month or two. Randy |
