Popeyes....hands down. Gus' Chicken did not leave an impression on me when I left the Memphis area. Only dine-in experience, the chicken was greasy and the crust was soft/gooey. Popeyes. KFCs breading to chicken ratio is all jacked up. Extra crispy is too much and original recipe is all slimy. Popeyes is right there in the middle. And the spicy breading seals the deal. I've never had Churches though so maybe Im missing out on something. |

Ill go with boston market. Plenty of good sides 2 sides and a piece of corn bread with a meal. the brothas up here always serving up raw chikin n shit by me and takes a dam half hour to get your food cause nobody knows what to do or prepares enough food for the lunch rush. Maybe they are better down south but up here you can only find popeyes in da hood. Still better than KFC when you actually get what you ordered. |

Popeyes for sure. But imagine taking the Popeyes but dipping it in the KFC gravy that would be awesome. Any of yall get the chicken at the ferry stop in braithwaite before Hurricane Isaac demolished it. Was awesome, now it's the shitty Krunchy Krispy crap. Honestly the fried chicken at Crabby Jacks on Jefferson Hwy in Jefferson right at Orleans/Jefferson line is best in metro. The tenders with that Mac and cheese will blow your mind. I have yet placed my vote. I'm torn between KFC original or Popeyes spicey. KFC gravy is first place. I just stopped at a Popeyes at Ft. Campbell and have to say it was better than the KFC I ate at recently. Back several years ago KFC original was champion however there is foul play nowadays with their chicken. |

Back in the day at the Popeyes in the town I grew up in you could go through the drive thru and get almost a quarter for 10$ bucks and your meal was free. I heard it was delicious.

I gotta agree of the chain places, Popeyes is the best. Now, that Ferry Stop was the shit when it was here. Here is a little Popeyes story that happened to me. Heading in to work one night shift I figured I'd grab some chicken on the way to work. Pull into the drive through and order. Get to the window, and the democrat working the window tells me that I'll have to wait for my chicken. I'm actually kinda happy about this. Fresh chicken is always better. I tell her no problem, and proceed to pay. As I hand her my money I ask " About how long will it be?" She tells me, and I quote " About 10-12 mins AFTER the truck gets here! These mofos ran out of chicken. They had none to cook!!! I asked her why the fuck they bothered to take my order? Needless to say, I got a Subway sandwich that night for dinner.
