hoist cable through metal ceiling
I'm looking for ideas on how to run an electric cable for a hoist though a metal shop ceiling. The plan is to put the hoist in an insulated attic with a switch on the wall and have a small hole with a trim ring or guide for the cable to keep it from walking and tearing up the ceiling. Nothing too heavy, just for processing deer and pulling a blind or jeep top or switching out a small boat motor or mud motor. So far all I can think of is a flange and a piece of half inch threaded pipe mounted from above so only the pipe pokes through the ceiling. Looking to keep it clean and neat, as the shop is also where we have fish fries, process meat, study the effects of alcohol on humans, find inner peace and often work alone waiting for a helping hand.
