Post Motor covers
What does everybody use for covering your hot motor with the purpose of camouflageing it in the field. I accidently melted some of that cheap leaflet covering all over my exaust and need a better option. Also will motor paint effect the way the motor cools enough to bother it? Thanks

never been a problem with me, by the time decoys get thrown the motor is cool enough to hold onto any part of it.

2x on the cool down...I use a piece of M.O. Bottomland cordura over it after it cools, and then drape some camo leaf cut sheet, and then some local foliage. The cordura does not snag any part of the motor- I know somebody who lost their oil dipstick when they yanked up their leaf cutout camo.

Our Hotti Heat resistant motor cover was meant to go on a hot engine. It has stubble straps, and comes in nat gear, or Max 5.

Says in the description that you basically don't cover the motor until 10min after shut down... You can do the same damn thing with a dry grass mat or piece of burlap, and they aren't $140. Some folks overthink things....

I bought a BBQ pit cover for 15$ and spray painted it camo. It has a draw string is made of thicker material, and is very water resistant.

Now that is a good idea! Makes me want to take some ribs on my next hunt! Will rustoleum adhere to that vinyl?

Mines a literally 5+ year old piece of camo burlap. I lay it over the motor as soon as we get parked avoiding the exhaust for the first few minutes till it cools.

Thanks for the replies guys. That BBQ cover is quite an awesome idea haha. Burlap has been getting me through so far this season but im gonna keep an eye out for one of those. So about putting a coat of paint on the block? Do it or bad idea?
