Just noticed something
I'm in the market for a new choke for my trusty rusty duck gun because I believe I'm having patterning and consistency issues. Still running the factory mod choke and it's all but smoked... Anyway. Looked at Kicks chokes and Comp-n-chokes websites just seeing if there were any good Black Friday sales out there and noticed that between the two warranty sections on each website, it's identical word for word and the address is the same. Does anybody know what the deal is with that? Is it just common knowledge that they're the same and I'm just now catching on? (Entirely possible) their products are within a couple bucks of each other which leads me to believe they must be at least extremely similar. Visually the only difference is how they're ported. Just posting to see if anyone has any Intel on it. Thanks.

Re: Just noticed something
They are the same company and chokes made in the same workshop. A really good group of guys and if you are local they allow you to shoot any choke with your shotgun to see how it patterns with their chokes with no expectation to buy.
The kicks are mark for steel and comp n choke marked for lead. Different port patterns but they will tell they pattern identically between the two of the same compression.
They even repaired a dented choke for a buddy that was dropped st no charge.

Re: Just noticed something
I would if the gun was worth putting Rob Roberts type money into. As it stands, the complete choke set would likely cost more than a replacement gun. I've got a couple others that I'd love to have Rob work over and they're worth every dime, but not this old thing. This particular gun has doubled as a paddle, push pole, spud pole and shovel a fresh choke tube will probably have it running good again for a long time. As it stands I can't really carry it and count on it. I've been carrying my Belgian Browning Magnum instead.

Re: Just noticed something
I'm shooting an old style 835 ulti-mag. Good dependable gun, I just need to get the patterning worked out. Shot some paper with it and it's got a big blown out spot right in the middle of the pattern. It's basically shooting a donut I spent teal season and the first split wondering if I had just been drinking too much in the morning or what, turns out it was the shotgun. I've always ran the same shells thru it so I don't see that being an issue. Only thing I can think is the old factory choke is done. No telling how many pellets it's had slung thru it at 1550fps over the years. A whole new barrel probably wouldn't hurt a thing. This gun gets used year round.

Re: Just noticed something
I have a Briely's Mod in my gun for the last several years.
In fact... I'm not sure if it will even come out anymore.
