Need some suggestions
Im a new surface drive owner. I have a 16 44 alumacraft with a 37efi GTR. My problem is the amount of tourque the motor has at full throttle. It takes almost everything I have to keep it from going to the right. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Need some suggestions
#1 play with the trim and hole settings. If you are trimmed out of water too much, the torque goes thru the roof. On my boat there's a sweet spot.
#2 You can bend the back of the skeg (on my 2014, there's a distinct tab) more
#3 you can mount the motor slightly off-center (like 1" or less) to the starboard (if that's the way it's pulling)

Re: Need some suggestions
Dont bend the skeg if its a cast lower unit...it wont bend, it'll just break. Move weight around or move off center

Re: Need some suggestions
Or jb weld a wedge to the skeg. Or bolt a tab to the skeg to bend
