Well Saturday I probably should have stayed in bed... Frost bite, covered in head to toe in mud, frozen solid by the time we got back to the ramp

Water dropped 6" while we were there... Ice formed rapidly once we got back in blind from setting out decoys.

Note to self... don't lug 3 guns and blind bags to prove your a bad arse... my buddy Bailey found out real quick you can't walk with all that sh!t on your back

My buddy Caleb (not pictured) was on his 2nd duck hunt ever. He had some cheap rubber (Academy) waders on. He got so stuck, his feet came out of his boots on his waders he fell over and water became coming into his waders. The scream he let out was unheard of!   It took two of us to get him calm and pulled out of the mud. He sat on the boat freezing. We gave him an emergency pair of jeans and sweater to throw on he sat huddled in front of the propane heater until we got the dekes in the boat.

Bailey pictured above spent the better part of 20 min flopping in the mud. He finally arrived at the boat (after we got the dekes which I'm sure was planned) only to flop into the boat head to toe in mud and lay all over the equipment

My hands from picking up the decoys had ice all over them. Got everyone warmed up and we headed back to the dock straight into the wind. Most miserable ride I've ever encountered boat was way out of balance from ice and mud.

It was a fun experience to say the least. Wish I had just gone out to play in the mud rather than truck through it and try and kill something. Our lake we hunted became overrun with seagulls. About 1000 descended upon us the term getting shat on became very real... Ducks were thick but the now frozen lake from slack tide killed our chances coupled with the seagulls the ducks would flare off. I'm sure the icicles hanging from the dekes and frozen foot prints didn't help

Yeah cause we moved the boat 400 yards down the shoreline.

We setup late looking for an area to hunt, water was 60 yards off the banks of the bay... we setup in our last resort spot in a back lake, we got everything unloaded and set out w/ boat there. My buddy put the net on the boat and after I got everything setup in the blind I came back around to see it all tented up, I laughed snapped some photos and moved it.

That blind would happen to be just west of 45 and north of the icw would it? I never hunt over there but heard that a couple people found some good shoots that direction last week.
