My local news just did a story today about a rash of thefts at local boat ramps at Beaver Lake, Arkansas. They are stealing fishing tackle, tools, anything left in the backs of trucks, breaking windows, and have even ran off with boat trailers. Last summer I noticed all manner of riff raff hanging out at the ramp closest to my house. It was pretty obvious that some of the folks there are not fishing, launching boats, but are there to buy and sell drugs. I even posted about seeing some folks down at the boat ramp having sex in the day time out side of their vehicle. I understand police can not park down at the boat ramp all day, but it would be nice if they could put up some sort of camera system that monitored boat ramps. I think it would be cost effective way to keep the heathen at bay. I hate a thief. |

It can be a real problem. There is a fairly remote boat ramp that we use in a county park. A girl was killed there two years ago over a drug deal. We leave our trucks and trailers there overnight a lot while we are catfishing. Luckily we haven’t had any problems, but we expect it every time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I hate to say this about a state (and I know all of them have this problem to a degree) but Arkansas has a real problem with white trash Meth heads. Worse than other places I've been. I have several friends who I hunt with who've had stuff stolen in parking lots, windows busted at boat ramps, camps broken into to steal propane tanks, stuff like that. set them up with a nice tempting offer at the boat ramp and shoot them from off in the distance with a rifle. leave them to rot. eventually they will get the hint. |
