went to the lake this mornin to hunt, unloaded the boat, warmed up the motor, and got half way across the lake when the belt snapped at idle speed. wtf lesson learned keep a spare................paddlin a mud boat doesnt work.

good news is they aren't hard to change. the hardest part is figuring out how to use the belt tension guage thingy. after fooling with it for 30 min i just put the damn belt on with a little play and it's lasted a couple yrs.  and i don't even own a belt drive. lol |

Something was wrong with that belt from day one. They dont just break at 50hrs. I dont think its anything you did. |

Aren't you the guy with a split GD hull? (Post up in the boat forum about how that turned out) Now the belt breaks? You must have a bad luck streak, or you are really tough on your stuff. Glad you got the belt sorted out. |
