Just a reminder for everyone to turn off the cell phone and take time out of there pseudo self importance to thank a veteran, or to simply talk to those who have sacrificed for hopes of a better life for our generation. Character and entegrity cannot be purchased and those that possess it are few and far between. That's all!

Preston "P.I." Addison

Preston "P.I." Addison, 79 years old of Loranger, Louisiana, died Thursday, January 21, 2010. He was born on Friday, August 22, 1930, in Sweetwater, Louisiana.

Preston “P. I.” Addison ... A rodeo man.

A rodeo man for many years, Mr. PI Addison of Hammond, LA can write a top selling book on the adventures he has encountered in his life. He has been a Pick up Man for the Tri-State
Rodeo Association, Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, High School Rodeo Association and Loranger FFA Little Britches Rodeo working for stock contractors such as Marshall DeSouges’ Southern Thunder Rodeo Co. of Tickfaw, LA and Gerald Smiths’ Wing Pro Rodeo Company of Bagota, TX. Mr. PI was the former assistant trail boss and lead rider of the Dixie Trail Ride from the beginning in 1979 until the end in 1995. He was former captain of the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriffs Posse from 1955 – 2001 and is now an honorary member.
Mr. PI Addison is a United States Army Veteran 1952 – 1954. He played in the army’s 1st Cavalry Baseball Division receiving awards for top batting average, catcher and fielder. He was offered a professional baseball career in 1954 but turned it down for family obligations. He coached Hammond Baseball League from 1964 – 1970 and led the team to their first Louisiana State Championship in 1969 and received the honor of Coach of the Year.
Mr. PI Addison is retired from BellSouth telephone company of 43 years. He is the father of Brad Addison and Kimberly Addison Corkern. He has three grandsons; Chance, Chad and Preston. He is a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ in Sweetwater, Louisiana. He enjoys baseball, horseback riding, spending time with his family and attending rodeos at the Florida Parishes Arena. His children and grandchildren say he is: A Great Man, A Great Father, A Great Grandfather, A Great Example, and A Great Friend!
He is the True American Cowboy and Man!

He will be missed!
