Those of yall from LA are already required to use your kill switch - however starting this weekend in Texas the use of a kill switch will no longer be optional in ANY boat less than 26 feet.... From the TPWD... https://tpwd.texas.gov/newsmedia/releas ... =20190828a " An ignition safety kill switch shuts off the boat motor automatically if the operator is thrown from the helm. The law requires operators of boats less than 26 feet in length that are equipped with an ignition safety kill switch to use it whenever the vessel is moving at greater than headway speed. Headway speed is defined as slow, idle speed, or speed only fast enough to maintain steerage on course. " Just a heads up for those out this weekend - be safe - be legal ! ! ! ! |

Legal or not, it is absolutely asinine to not wear your kill switch. It has saved me from doom a few times |

I think those new kill switch pendants will get popular. The ones you can wear on your belt etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I like the one that goes on the wrist. It doesn’t get in my way and it’s convenient to put on and take off I find |

It’s probably not a perfect solution, but like Giga said...it’s probably not a bad option for folks on pontoons etc. I don’t have one on my rig either, I run a standard kill tether and I’m pretty religious about wearing it. An electronic kill switch is way better than a rope kill switch wrapped around the tiller handle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

These look pretty cool... I like the wristband version as well as the pocket remote.... https://www.westmarine.com/buy/fell-mar ... gIKe_D_BwE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIDgg1mPj2A Gives the option of any passenger restarting the engine to retrieve man overboard - pretty cool... |

A kill switch saved my life at least twice in a surface drive |
