Well..... I haven't been on much since I've been having a rough time. I dropped out of school back around Thanksgiving and had like strait F's lol. Well my plan was and still is to just get my G.E.D. Well im enrolled in the G.E.D program and i went take all my pretesting and i went for my first class on Monday and they tell me that the only point in me staying that day is if i want to start doing my work on the internet at home because they don't do testing on Mondays. So i asked why do i have to test again. She looked at me and laughed and told me that i don't have anything to study except one chapter in language and then i start testing to get my G.E.D lol. I thought it was pretty funny because i know a few people in the class and they all think im stupid because i don't make good grades in school because im always sleeping or not there and my scores on my tests show that i have a mathematical level of a junior in college, a scientifical level of a freshman in college, a historical level of a junior in college, and a language level of a sophomore in high school lol. So when I'm done getting my G.E.D i plan on going to a tech school in Morgan City for diving to become a saturation diver offshore and after that i want to go to a diesel mechanic school somewhere around this end of louisiana. Anyways, just thought I'd let yall know whats up and that i am looking for a full time job around lafayette |

If there was one thing I could change in my past it would be to do better in school. That being said ,stay in school as long as you can afford to .Education is the key to success if you don't have a strong back.just my opinion.Good luck.. get with basinhunter maybe he could give you the lowdown on the underwater welding. |

If your goal is to be a mechanic, why go to diving school. Become certified as a mechanic and go to work instead of wasting time. |

College is way overrated anyway, just an extended party really. Ask the college folks on here if any of them are doing jobs they were trained for in college, as most are not. I spent 7 yrs in college for 3 degrees and I don't even use them. Just be a diver, make a ton of money, and dont worry about it. |

DIVER do you really know what you are in store for??? At a minimum 2 years of tending divers hose being a divers biachh for hardly any money .. If you suck enough ass and get in a click you may break out in two years to lead tender or diver. The next few years you will be on shitty jobs 50 feet or less making no depth pay but getting to make some dives jetting in zero vis tasting mud for 12 hours a day . Not to mention the toll this takes on your body. I don't mean to rain on your parade but its not straight out of dive school in to a sat chamber. If you want to work in the ( diving industry) go to R.O.V. school alot more money for the most part and half the work and politics of the diving world. I have watched sevral guys waste alot of money on diving school. It is not a glamorus or easy or high paying profession for the first 5 - 10 years. If you can make it that long with out getting hurt you may make some money. Probably not what u wanna hear but its how it really is |

IF your looking to go to school in Morgan City, do like said above. Go to ROV. Oceaneering is a pretty good one. I work for oceaneering as a tooling technician. I work with ROV guys all the time. The best thing about oceaneering, is that they do all training for them in house. No outside bullshit classes. All your Electrical Training and Mechanical training is right there at the yard in Morgan CIty. |
