Post subject:  Favor -- Guys north of BR around St. Francisville

I posted this in the Dog Forum as well, but figured more guys would see it here.

The Grand Hunting Retriever Championship is being host by Amite River HRC in mid April and my dog as well as a couple others from TX i know on here will be going.

The trainer who will be handling my dog will be stayin in St. Francisville LA and will be coming down a week early to try and train in some grounds similiar to what we could be facing at the Grand. I am tryin to find out if anyone on here lives in the area or knows anyone in the area who has land that my trainer could train on the week before. Any land around Jackson or Zachery would be great. I know this is asking alot, but i am just tryin to help him out and meet some locals and possibly train together or use their land for training the week beforehand. Any help or leads would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

JC,

The test is from April 17-21. My trainer will be down roughly April 11 or 12th. As far as amount, he is just looking for some pond/sloughs/marshly land to set up some water tests and some typical upland to set up some land scenarios. He is just coming down early to put our dogs in the typical terrian that yall have in the area just in case that area is different from waht types of grounds we have up here. Basically we are just looking for some typical pasture land with some water on it.

Bonnett Carre Spillway is about 2hrs from there and has some of the best training ground in the Southern States. I go to field trials there all the time. Might be worth looking into. But, it is about 2hrs from St Fville

I got a 400 acres in clinton he can use if im there and might can get him there if im not. Its 60 acres of pasture with enough sloughs and water to wear a dog out. It also has the comite river running through it. Get with me and we can talk about it.
