hey, i got a blue 300 4x4 honda. runs fine and looks ok. winch, racks, gunrack, all stock. kickstart backup.

rear end been out for a while, drive it with front end pulling.
only use it 2 or 3 times a yr.

is it worth 1000$ ? i think dat's a fair price, but i would like sum opinions.

thanks.

Depends on what year and what's wrong in the rear end. Sounds like you're close to the right ballpark anyway.

it's gonna need a new rear end i beleive. i called my podna at the honda shop and he said the perts are around 550$ to fix it.

it's a 1994 model. runs like it always did.

btw, it's got racks and a winch too.

i ain't gonna fix it. it runs fine now for what i do. i only use it a couple time a yr to go down sum headlands to get to a pond i hunt. mo old man has a honda that's about 4 or 5 yrs old and on it's 4th or fith tank of gas, so i figured i'd sell mine and 'inherit' his. :)

I had one of those. They are great bikes. But being that old for 1,000 bucks it would have to be in great shape. Not trying to upset you but its the truth. I run 4wheelers and deal with them alot. Right now you can get much newer bikes for just just a lil more with no problems. You can get Honda rancher 350's easy for 1800 to 2000 dollars.

$1000 for the bike, $550 for the parts ($??? for labor), for a $1500 - $1800 bike? Sounds like you're pretty much on target. I'd bet if you put it on HiLifter forums it would move FAST.

DA, I bought da same bike bout 3 yrs ago for $2000 then had a new front end put on and adjusted da timin chain for another $800. But it is all worth it. Small price to pay if you want da best bike ever built.

I never figuered out why but those bikes handled the big bore kits better than the newer ones.

X4 on the best one honda made......

Had a 1991 300 4x4 fourtrax - and yes it was the best they ever built. I sent mine to a dude south of New Iberia for some minor work right before Hurricane Rita hit. The bike floated in salt water under his house for 2 days. The guy changed all the fluids and all the electrical connections - which were corroded. The bike cranked up and is still running after selling it to a buddy. I ended up buying a brand new 2005 4X4 Foreman - no problems with it either but never starts as easy as the fourtrax.
