My youngest daughter (Bria), fell earlier today and broke her arm pretty bad. With that said, we started in Morgan City. (sucks) now we are in Houma. A bit better. Ok back to Bria ( which is 6yrs old). The dr styed that she will need a surgery to attach the completly broken bone back together. This will require pins and what is said to be numerous surgeries. Really sucks knowing that my little girl is in pain. O one other thing. Male nurses are mostly gay

Dadgone man that is a heck of a break. Hope things are going good for your daughter by the time you read this. Sure is hard to see your kids in pain. Hope she is doing better and tell her we are pulling for her up in Indiana.

UPDATE :

she is out of surgery. Dr says that once he got her in back, it was bad, but due to her age, may not be as bad as originally thought. So, right now she has 3 pins hanging out her arm. She is still in recovery. I can't wait to see her !!!

Is that break right above the elbow joint? Three years ago had the same break. What a pain.

Got pretty much full range back but strength is seriously lacking and I have restrictions on weight. The best part is everytime ya bend the elbow now you can hear all kinds of grinding and popping! You become a great weather man over time too!

Man it sucks to see da little ones get hurt. I hope she has a speedy recovery.

Uncle-J, Sorry to hear about Bria and her accident. Will keep her in my prayers for a full recovery. Its hard to tell from the picture of the Xray, but did they mention any involvement of the growth plate of her humerous in the fracture? I would not sweat the CPS stuff much. By the way, not all of us male ER nurses are gay, nor do we have to stay at a Holiday Inn Esxpress, but I know what you are talking about.

The family will be praying for her, I can't imagine my 7 year old in that kind of pain. Prayers sent and then sent again.

I know just what you are going through. My 4 year old grand daughter broke her elbow last year. She had 3 pins sticking out. The less you make of it the better, she was a little afraid for a while, but bounced back real quick. Its amazing how well they handle the pain. The prayers have been sent.

Good luck man! Been there! My little guy had to have the front of his skull rebuilt when he was 5 months old. His soft spot was fused at birth.

You would give anything to feel the pain for them! Hang in there! Prayers sent!


ps.... Lets hope the worst part is going to be keeping her out of the pool with the cast!

The prayers and concerns means the world to my family and I. But, as said earlier. She is doing a he'llofalot better than yesterday. The way the bone was trying to bust through the skin. Ughhhhh. I can only imagin what she was feeling

Prayers sent. I Hope she makes a speedy recovery. Seeing the little one's get hurt sucks. The wife is a PICU nurse ,so I get to hear alot of terrible news. It never seems positive when a kid is envolved,but before you know it everything will be back to normal.

Yo J sorry but I just read this thread.

Hope she is feeling better soon. Them little girls are tougher then most boys at that age. My littler girl broke her wrist last Good Friday playing on monkey bars on a swing set. When she lost her grip and fell to the ground in an awkward way and tried to catch herself. Snapped both bones about 1 inch above the wrist. All I heard was a scream over the crawfish boilers. Talk about a quick sore up and never seen my wife drive so fast.

Although we all act tough and talk shit, it really breaks you down knowing that there isn't anything that you could do for your kids at that age. Took a few trips to get her all fixed. Waiting for surgery was the worst.

Tell her hang in and enjoy all the pampering she'll get. She'll be good as new in no time.

Oh and make sure when they recast it, they use waterproof casting. If they haven't already.

And I know what you mean about CPS. They asked me stupid questions also. I'm like GTF out of my face.
