Apparently this flounder gigger got attacked by two hogs and he killed both of them with his gig! Not sure about the truth to the story or attacks cause the photo in the link above doesn't show the man with any wounds or dressings on also after 50 stitches in my legs I'd not want to put on blue jeans! SHORTS PLEASE! Anyone got an opinion??

Ive heard of bird dogs getting attacked by hogs...

Sounds like a crock of shit to me.

It says he heard splashing, they hit him and sent him to his knees?

If i heard splashing, i would turn in the direction of the noise. So if im facing them, and they hit me... I would fall on my ass... Not my knees.

Hogs aint gonna just attack ya. If you corner them or youre messing with their young ones they'll F you up. They arent gonna just come outta nowhere and attack people. Theyre pretty quick to run away from you from what Ive experienced. But who knows, Ive been wrong before.

he looks alittle old to be able to fend off two critters that size after being knocked down. his arms dont show and injuries either. i agree with dem other boys.....looks like its a bit far fetched to me.

I call bullchit I have hunted hogs with dogs for the better part of 20 years. I seen my buddy get charged and hit once we had been running her for about 2 hours. She had all she could stand and turned and charged. As far as boars go they will charge if they are cornered. Now put them in a bay pen and they will get your a$$. If they can run they will. Just my 2 cents

Those pigs look pretty clean to have been dragged in the water and mud to the bank as well. Have to call and raise all in on this one.

hmmm, now would a crediable news paper, like the one in Kehma publish a story that was not true?????? Even local Media will publish the pork to sell a paper. I call bullshit too. I have been charged by a hog, but I was also stealing piglets to rasie and sell. Like most other animals a Hog is not going to charge and unless provolked.

Hogs at the pass??? i haven't heard of them over there. WEA, you spend alot of time in those parts, you see any hogs????? I have seen the in the brazoria refuge and at x-mas point, but not at the pass.

Anyway, even though it is probably bullshit, it is an entertaining read.

Have a great day guys.

In 20+ years of fishing the area I've seen a hog twice maybe... I see them on Follet Island (Freeport side which is Christmas Bay, Bastrop & closer to Brazoria Wildlife Refuge)

We see them in Chocolate Bayou & Bay swimming.

I saw a few after Ike hit when nobody was on the Island except clean up crews and emergency personnel.

The area he was gigging I gig all the time! I have no clue exactly where he was but when he says SLP I've walked every inch of sand out there and there are DEEP guts chest deep & higher and high tide but there are flats out there that are maybe 5 AC. The water current is very strong in this area because of the proximity to the pass we have more deaths from drownings from idiots walking out to far and getting sucked out, which is a shame. Probably more sightings of beached whales that would make any man throw up besides Justin  he seems to like whales
