Was in the great town of Houma on Tuesday and today filming the loadouts of a 3000 & 4000 ton modules bound for Alaska.

Pretty cool shoot except for the sun burn I got on Tuesday while on the manlift. I guess I was closer to the sun than everyone else.

Nice Tony, looks like you got a kool job.
I wonder how nerve racking it would be to drive Mammoet's transporters on that lift

If I had to guess, I'd say by ship. The railyard I work at is right next to the Port of Port Arthur and we watch em off-load and move monsters like this all the time. All part of the Motiva expansion project.

Do the "transporters" stay with the shipment? What was the measurements of it, and what is it used for? That's one big dog house.

I deal with Berard pretty regular at the shipyard I work at. We build barges in a shop and sometimes with the bigger barges, theyre built in modules. Berard hauls the modules out in the yard and helps us stab them together. When we complete the barge, they haul the whole unit to our launch system. Its pretty awesome watching those machines work. Those guys are very good at what they do.

Tony,

What exactly is the unit... looks like a set of cracking heaters?

It's a oil processing unit, like a production platform on land. The oil it produces will go in the Alaska pipeline.

On the job we just did there was around 430 tires. . . . . each at about at least $500.00 each. Do the math, it's a shitload of money just in tires, not to mention the millions in the transporters themselves.
