We are down to the final day before the event!!

This event is 100% Free & open to any members or friends here on MMT.

Release Waivers are required. You will find me at the launch with a packet of them & pens. 1 form / boat. Please list any riders & have them sign / print name as well. Here is the link to the waiver: http://www.fishwestend.com/MudBugs2012-Indemnity.pdf (again, I will have them available no need to print them now, but we are allowing you to review the form).

As a reminder, we will be meeting at the Hugo Point Boat Ramp (see map below) starting at 9AM. We will be leaving the ramp at exactly 10AM!

Overnight Boat Parking (Fenced & Secured) is just down the street, 400 yards from the boat launch. Cost is $5 / night.
JJ's Dry Dock
1512 Gou Hole Road
Cove, Texas
281-573-2775

I'm sorry but we will NOT wait on anyone that shows up late. The Poker run starts exactly at 10AM.

The first half of the ride is 2 hours long. We will be running up old river & back down. As always we will be stopping in certain areas for 10 minutes at at time. There will be 5-7 stopping points (to be determined Friday). At each point you will be given a random playing card from me. This is a poker run, best hand will win (5 or 7 cards).

We plan on returning to the launch at or before noon. We will announce the winner & award them with a custom Killer Kall donated by Team Camo Outdoors.

Please bring your own beverages & personal effects. I will have water available at the pavilion & cups.

Game Wardens routinely patrol these waters. Your boat must be registered & sticker displayed. It is mandatory that all passengers have a personal flotation device available to them. It can be tucked away but you must have one US Coast Guard certified life jacket per person on your boat. Yes it is legal to drink on the water but boating while intoxicated is not allowed nor will it be tolerated by the event organizers. Please be responsible is all we are asking.

Don't forget sunscreen!!!

Crawfish at the Pavilion: Noon - 1:30 PM

Crawfish are being supplied by Mike Bingham w/ Red Tailz Crawfish many know him because of Extreme V-Twins. Thanks to our sponsors the crawfish are 100% free!! We have 4 sacks of large / select purged crawfish being delivered Friday morning. I have my two buddies returning again to cook the crawfish (I have never heard any complaints about my buddy Deano's bugs)

Event shirts will be available for purchase during the lunch hour. $15 / each. I accept credit card or cash. Any extra shirts will be posted on MMT and people can purchase for $18 which includes shipping & handling costs.

After lunch we plan on running up the Trinity River & through the locks. This area is completely fresh water and due to the heavy rains the river is really running and very high. I will be scouting Friday to determine if it is safe for us to travel that route.

I have attached a link to Google Maps of the area: .

http://www.facebook.com/events/251139508288268/

Wallisville is conveniently located just East of Baytown, only 45 minutes East of Houston and a 50 minute drive West of the Beaumont / Port Arthur area.

Note: We will be covering a lot of ground. Please bring a full tank of gas & an extra gas can to top off your tank during lunch. I would say we can easily cover 40 miles.

"The Wallisville Lake Project is 23,000+ acres along and on either side of the Trinity River from just below the lock and dam, north to just south of the community of Moss Bluff. The project is managed for the public good and for the benefit of the wildlife living in and migrating through the area. A balanced approach is applied to ensure that the needs and desires of the visiting public are met as nearly as possible without jeopardizing the wildlife and plants under the Corps’ care.

Marshes, bottomland riparian forests, swamps, and aquatic habitats are the major living spaces for the Project’s animals and plants. As a major portion of the Trinity River’s Estuary, the Project is influenced by both fresh and salt water due to tides and river flows."

I would add - especially for the LA guys....

You MUST have a throwable cushion too
even though it DOES NOT count toward your lifejackets for each person
they will ticket you if you ain't got one onboard ! ! !

Be safe and have fun....

We will have a safety meeting & quick briefing about the route before we leave the launch / boat ramp just before 10AM. So hang close.

If someone refuses to sign this waiver are you gonna not allow them to launch their boat or tell them they can not ride on the same waterway? Do you own the launch or waterway? Will the police come and arrest those who don't sign? Will there be attorneys on site to give leagal advice to all parties envolved in the signing of this waiver? Will there be a public notary there to sign off as a witness?

Post subject:  Re: 4/21 - Mud Bugs & Mud Boats

Cool.
I have a few other questions.
Will it be Louisiana or Texas crawfish, wild or farm raised crawfish, being served?
Will gigafowl have a camera capable of zooming in from long distances so that he will not have to leave the comfort of his deep water boat lanes?
Will there be restrooms available? Or would anyone mind if someone took a shit in front of them? Will it be ok to throw used toilet paper in the water even if it is 100% biodegradable?
Are there any gas stations in the area that sell ethanol free gasoline?
Is this happening in a dry county?

My friend was wanting to come in his 18ft bass boat with a 150 outboard. With this north wind, will the poker run track be too shallow for that boat?

Coe, why didn't you answer my questions? I see you answered someone else's. That's discrimination. Are you a racist too?

And the good luck continues. Somehow rain filled the cylinders and now there's water in the oil. Anyone know where I can find a filter in the morning?

Yall in Baytown, right? Gotta be an AutoZone or other parts house there. Also Gene's Polaris is a PD dealer. Right of I-10 on Westbound side, on east side of Baytown.
