Post subject:  Ten Commandments Destroyed in Arkansas - How Ironic

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/201 ... yed-less-/

The State of Arkansas just erected a statue with the Ten Commandments inscribed and in less than 24 hours a man rammed them with his car, toppling the statue and breaking the commandments.

How ironic is that?

The very first time those commandments were ever written in stone, they were literally etched by the hand of God on Mount Sinai. Moses no sooner got the Commandments when the Children of Israel rebelled, had Aaron build them a false idol, and began to worship it.

Moses scooted down the mountain and at the half way point met Joshua. Joshua said the sound in the camp was as the sound of war. Moses was not even able to get the commandments from God before the people broke them, were having a giant rock and roll orgy as they danced naked around a false God. Moses shattered the first set of commandments and forced the people to drink water with the dust ground from the false god in it.

Not much has changed in the thousands of years since. Man keeps on breaking those Commandments.

God knew that man was not able to keep those Commandments because of his sin nature. God in turn sent his own Son in the form of a man to live perfectly among men and to be hung on a cross to pay for every time those commandments were broke in the past and for any time whey would be broke in the future. It was the perfect sacrifice, and after it, no other sacrifice was ever needed again.

All man has to do is accept that sacrifice. It is that simple.

This fellow that rammed his car into the commandments is no worse than any of us that have ever lied, stole, coveted, taken God's name in vain.... He is just a sinner like the rest of us. The amazing part is that God offers the same gift of forgiveness to him that he offers to the rest of us. I hope he accepts it.
