I'm looking for a taxidermist that can do good work and does'nt take a big dent out of the wallet. I shot a full plumage Bwt on the last day of the season and I'm looking to get a good mount, this will be my first mount ever done so I hope it will come out nice once finished. If any of y'all have any info on such a taxi in Southeast La, help would be appreciated ImageUploadedByTapatalk1390233472.118020.jpg

Looks like Ronnie it is, I'll be calling him soon. I think the reason we were seeing blue wings this late is because the migration this year was just so irregular

Ronnie is a buddy of mine he lives down in St. Bernard and hunts more than most of this on the forum. Dude does the best trim work I've ever seen. Heck of a carpenter. That's how I met him. He trimmed my house. Also plays guitar. So you know he's good with his hands. He's not like these old timers that are complacent and it's their way or the highway. He can mount it most any way you can imagine. His work is outstanding. I've had him do birds for me at different times and I swear it gets better everytime I see it. Does cool work on fish, crabs and squirrels too.

His number is 504-512-2026, tell him Chase sent you.

I need more mounts like I need a bullet in my head yet I continue to bring him birds.

Dropped the bird off at Ronnie's, I was thoroughly impressed. Really nice guy and his work looked amazing. With his skills, he is going nowhere but up. Confident that he'll do a great job on my bird

How much is he charging you and what's his back log, if you don't mind me asking?

About a 4 month turn around is what he told me. He is cheap. The cheapest you will find.

He charges 155 if you want your bird back quicker than usual, 135 if you can wait longer.

Just a friendly reminder for those that do not know, that when you transport waterfowl for someone else you must follow federal regulations.

"No person shall transport migratory birds belonging to another person unless such birds are tagged as required by section 20.36"

Section 20.36 summary: Birds shall have a tag attached, signed by the hunter, stating his address, the total number and species of birds, and the date such birds were killed.

Here is a sample tag you can use.

Having this will relieve you of possesion, and the taxidermist will need this information anyway.

Just trying to help.

Post all contact info about this Ronnie guy, if he's as good as my buddy(who took first place in Nationals two years ago in waterfowl div.) I'll rid out and check him out.
here is the spec he did for me....
