There are spots here that are covered in Ducks as soon as the season closes.... the last two years we have had a few long days to scrape limits and sometimes not get a limit...

When we go back down after the season to clean up there are normally hundreds of new Ducks that have moved down...

So what if they are good eatin...would you rather kill 15 of those retards flying by your spread and or crashing into the water like like they're drunk or would you rather kill 6 birds that you work to your decoys and they fan down in them? I get to hunt alot so I guess 6 per person each time is enough for me to eat throughout the year, I don't know where I would put 15 coots x 40-45 trips per year. lol I would need a whole nuther freezer dedicated to just coots.

Owen, it wouldn't be so bad except, we don't see many ducks. They come down after the season is closed. Atleast that is what I see/hear.
I see you are in Ark. I'm sure you have a better duck population than we do.
Last season we hunted all day a few times. I saw 1 duck that was so high, he could have been hit by a jet. Maybe this year will be better, but to have fun with my son, I plan to take him shoot pouldeu. He has a great time and actually helps him to learn to shoot better.

Unless I find a good place to set up for "ducks", I see me shooting pouldeu all season.

Manchac is always loaded with ducks!!!! You just have to find them!!

The duck hunting has been soo bad we are looking for a club or lease outside Louisiana. Manchac is a duck hunting mecca, if you have not been you need to get there before the ducks stop coming down completely.

We hunt the sht outta blue petes here, it's exciting as hell when a couple hundred come splishing on in the decoys. I'd just as soon eat them as a duck, they're good.

that place is a joke. i know a few spots that are impossible to get to with a SD that i hunt and that's the only place i will go out there. hunting in the prarie is a nightmare! a limit of dos gris aint' worth my time

your rite.. if u want to experience public huntin at its finest.. go to the prairie. everyone with a MM goes tehre.. ppl blowin kazoo calls basicaly. however i had had decent luck going second split, middle of the week.. no mojo in sight! but not until about 8:30 tho. killed ducks til arond 10 10 30

Owen we go on coot specific shoots after we get our limit of ducks,we do not do it every hunt. We do it whenever we get the urge to eat a pile of them. Sometimes its fun to pile them up and let the kids get in them
