Shot a few nice needlenose gar the other week. Lots of small ones, but these were fun.

Very cool AO. The pics look a lot betta on here than they did on my crappy lil phone. We've seen a mess of em that size over here by my house if yall get the urge to drag that boat over here...

What do ya'll do with those things? I've seen a few folks down here cleaning them to eat, but they are full of bones and look nasty.

We usually dispose of them... The big one's like that, I hear are good to eat. They cut the backstraps off em, and fry em up. Never tried it myself, cuz we never think to bring ice, and I aint eatin nothing that laid in the bottom of the boat all night in 90 deg weather.

We put all 3 of those big ones on ice and gave them to a family that likes them the next day. I've never tried to eat them. I tried cleaning one once, but got about a quarter way done and said to hell with it.
