 Speed bead
Bought a speed bead. Shot over 200 shells n the last week with it and it works great. It was defiantly worth the money. Greatly improved my shooting, in fact my two friends that also tried it ordered one. Just in case u were contemplating it

 Re: Speed bead
It just doesnt look like it would hold up. the abuse that my guns go through i doubt it would last a day on my gun.

 Re: Speed bead
Easiest way i found to get them quick shots off is learn to not need the bead. shoulder that gun quick keep both eyes open and follow the bird without the bead. Dont AIM a shotgun just Point it. works pretty darn good for quick shooting and thats how most pro clay shooters do it.

 Re: Speed bead
its a good idea. yes everyones right about pointing the shot gun not aiming. but the speed bead will make you keep your head down on the stock.
most shooters miss, exspecially quick shots, because there head is off the stock. even when you take your time on a passing shot, you will catch people with there head up.
this porduct looks like it will force you to stay down on the stock. i am a f/a instructor and ive shot alot of clays and hunted just as much. i would have to say head up is the #1 reason people miss a target with a shot gun. the second would be stoping the gun.

 Re: Speed bead
the third would be a flinch, caused from several prior shots with there head up, where the gun has wacked them in the cheek. this condition will cause the shooter to pull there head up even further to keep the pain off the cheek.
good form is a must from the first shot. these problems will only get worse as the day goes on. duck hunting is the worst condition to learn in. be it blind or timber hunting its always a call for the shot. blind hunting is the worst, because one caller sees and works the birds. the shooter will be blind to the birds until the shot is called, or he better be ( big pie faceses flareing the birds wont get you invited back anytime soon). that means you have to pop up, find the birds, mount the gun and attempt to track the birds for a proper leed or pass thru shot, all in the blink. most of the time the gun is moving one way and the head looking for the bird. head off the gun, pull the trigger, stock smacks the face, face hurts. next time same thing and it goes down hill from there.

 Re: Speed bead
ive seen it in tv. it will work, i just think its a little to much to pay for it. but then an eotec is about the same product at about 3 times the price. there are some other type devices that are alot cheeper.
old tom knapp promotes a hooded front sight that does the same thing. although you dont aim with front bead, the hood keeps you from seeing the bead unless your head is down on the stock.
again #1 reason for misses head up
