Post Wax Lake Info Needed
Thanks to our crooked politicians who made White Lake a playground for the rich instead of a WMA, the only WMA within an hour of me is the Wax Lake side of the Atchafalaya Delta.

I had a few questions for you guys who hunt out there. Is the tent camping area next to the houseboat mooring area? Is it correct to assume there is no water or electricity for tent camping? Are the mosquitoes as thick as the fog if you tent camp?

I was also wondering, if I do not hunt offshore, is the hunting any good closer in or is the hunting pressure too high? Basically I would just like to avoid getting on top of anyone else.

Thanks

Throw your name in the hat for the lottery hunts at White Lake. 3 out of the 5 hunters in my group got drawn this year for teal season. The guided lottery hunts at White Lake were all ridiculously good.

Thanks for all the info! It sounds like it will be stacked with people on weekends regardless of where I set up. At least I do have one weekday off to go hang out with the mosquitoes at the wax ;) I will probably not go on the weekend at all unless it thins out some.

How is the hunting there late in the season?

As far as White Lake goes, according to this page : http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/news/35927
you have to pay $5 just to play the lottery and even if you win, it says "An additional payment of $225 will be required for the rice field hunts and $350 for the marsh hunts."
