 Sight fishing
Alright, Im starting to really get into fly fishing and sight fishing in general, do any of yal sight fish and if so how. Im looking for new ideas on lures to use for both rod and reel and fly rod. What advice do yal have for things I should look at getting. I bough a g loomis rod last year off a guy at a steal and just got my first nice reel tonight. I have a 14 by 44 weld craft with large casting deck and my go devil and Im looking at getting a poleing platform built. Any other ideas yal have would be great.

 Re: Sight fishing
Some Costa's w/ the amber base lens. I like the green mirror glass lens. I catch 90% of the fish I catch on soft plastic. Presentation is vital when sight casting. You want to make a smooth cast and quiet entry far enuf as to not scare the fish but close enuf to put it in front of him w/o hitting him w/ it.

 Re: Sight fishing
Yal keep them coming Im open to anything. Catching reds isnt a problem, I just go get some dead shrimp and a popping cork but I love a challenge and mississippi's state record for red fish on fly isnt that big I dont believe.

 Re: Sight fishing
Good pair of amber sun glasses. 7' rod for long cast. Dupre's spoons for reds on fly they eat them up.

 Re: Sight fishing
Thats 99% of what I do as well......Amber Glasses and a platform........I use my Yeti on the front of the GD and have had no issues.......using a Trimbles foxy chicken in chartreuse...or any shrimp/crab looking pattern in olive is a pretty good bet......if they are tailing you can use anything and they will eat it........just make sure to get it out in front a ways and don't line em......
