 Mississippi Duck Hunters Sound Off
Opening weekend finally got here! What part of the state were you in and how was it?
I was in north end of the state hunting Corps of Engineer property.
It has been really exciting seeing SOOO many ducks up here. The ducks have literally been camped out since October! Finally got the chance to put the hammer down on them, Friday morning. It was very easy to be selective with the shots. Dang mallard hen crossed up on me opening morning. Had the drake on the right when approaching. Split second I looked away, they crossed on me. Knew it when I pulled the trigger! Opening Day.jpg
Saturday morning was just as productive. Another limit which included three green heads, two teal, and a grey.
Gave them a break this morning. Gonna be back out for the second split on Friday and Saturday, again.

Birds got skittish pretty quick around brazil. Had a couple of good hunts but by Sunday they were scared of soy beans and water...haha.

I don't know that "amazing" is the word for it, but we'll just go ahead and be nice today.

Re: Mississippi Duck Hunters Sound Off
Good job everybody! I am taking the morning off this Friday for the second season to do it all, again. I'm not scared to invite people to hunt or tell them where I am hunting. Arkabutla Lake. Yellow circle is where I am hunting. Red circle is Hernando Point launch. Ducks are anywhere in the red rectangle!
New Picture (2).jpg
Got a place on the Tallahatchie I have been seeing mallards and woodies roosted up when I have been going deer hunting. I want to give that a shot one morning soon, too.

Re: Mississippi Duck Hunters Sound Off
Hey y'all can join the rest of the weekend warriors we have to deal with at the Rez and as far as Howard Miller goes you have to draw like everyone else so you're not guaranteed a spot unless you have an early draw...each person has their own field up there so I wouldn't have to worry about y'all pecker heads settin up on top of me anyway

Re: Mississippi Duck Hunters Sound Off
You just summed it up yourself fuck yal are dumb. If more shit heads show up at Howard Miller then more fuckers are drawing for the few fields that are open for that day and you have less of a chance of winning anything. But yal keep throwing the names of the few places that we still have to hunt im just glad I was born into a farming family.
