 Re: Sub 1k gun
A 3" Beretta is the very best bang for your buck if you want a gun that will hold up for decades, shoot 3" with the least felt recoil, and RELIABLY cycle light 2 3/4" target loads.

 Re: Sub 1k gun
The lack of knowledge here not only pertains to mud motors but shotguns as well

 Re: Sub 1k gun
I'm not gonna read all the posts on this thread, but I bet there is a story about someone using their 870 as a walking stick in the mud while hunting, using it to paddle the boat back in saltwater, not cleaning it before the next outing, then goin shoot a limit of ducks with it with no issues.

 Re: Sub 1k gun
Settled on the Versa Max Sportsman $855. So it met my Sub 1k. Got it in black, so we'll se how well I can shoot a well engineered gun.

 Re: Sub 1k gun
I tryed the stoeger. Sold it after the first season , pulled my BPS back out , even though it's not a auto , its very dependable and never has let me down , my 870 was a jamin POS , My next gun will be a SBE2.

 Re: Sub 1k gun
Ran about 150 rounds through the gun shooting skeet, and I can say it is a great shooting gun. One jam, but I was using the cheapest shells I could find. Not bad on the kick. You know it's a 12, but so much smoother than bro-inlaws 1187. Patterned great with Winchester 6 steel load, but heavier were splotchy. Any suggestions on a choke? Would like a better pattern with 3-4 shot.
