 Re: Browning A5 thoughts
what is the reason for wanting to get a new gun? that is arguably the most reliable automatic on the market?

 Re: Browning A5 thoughts
I have a new A5 and I don't like it near as much as my beretta and Benelli.

Not being a puss but it kicks more than the others. It's not that it kicks that much harder but it kicks up into my jaw. will give you a hell of a headache after a box of shells. I may get the barrel ported at some point.

 Re: Browning A5 thoughts
kicks harder bc its inertia driven not gass operated.
and ive never heard of that problem with a SBII. send it back to benelli, you should have a life time warranty on it, i know my super vinci does.
and if its kicking up into your face like you say it is, and u want to buy a new gun (which sounds like money isnt an option since your lookin at an A5) go look at teh super vinci, not the prettiest gun b/c of the design but its damn near flawless, and the kick is different on them, instead of the gun jumping up, the kick goes straight back into your body there fore the bead nvr comes off of what your aiming at, kick is a lil more bc of it going straight back into your body but it well worth it. its pretty amazing how they designed it to kick like that.
i got mine last year and have been extremly pleased and impressed by it

I'd check out the Browning Maxus too. I just got one this year. Really nice gun, reliable, very soft shooting.

 Re: Browning A5 thoughts
I shoot the Beretta A400 and that gun is bulit proof, I have dropped it in the lake, shoveled dirt intot hte action by mistake getting a goose blind ready. I shot all one year and never cleaned it trying to get it to fail and couldn't. I have shot everything form 7/8's load to 1 1/2 hevi shot 3 1/2 and it cycles everything fine. I have put a pattern master code black duck choke in it this year and it is seadly out to 60 yards, kill shots not cripples.
Later Phil

 Re: Browning A5 thoughts
I shot the A-5, My beretta xtrema, and SX3 all back to back with 1oz estates and couldnt tell the diff in recoil. Maybe with the heavier loads things would change.
Only thing that happened that day shooting a round of skeet was the A-5 had a few fail to cycles with the 7/8oz loads. It was brand new, not broken in so with time that would probably go away.
