 Re: Choke tubes
Same one for the timba; FULL.. You either kill em or they fly away but you don't sail near as many as shooting an IC (or similar) choke.. In the timba you can here the fethers rippin off..

 Re: Choke tubes
My Kicks Hi-Flyer shoots like a dream. I have a Full in my Nova and will never shoot anything else at ducks. Dense pattern and slight reduction in felt recoil. What more could you ask for? I have shot a pattern master as well, and like both but for the $$$ savings I choose the kicks.

 Re: Choke tubes
I shot steel out of my 1100 full for years and then had it cut down and screw in chokes put in.The gunsmith told me I could shoot steel for years and be ok or the next time I pulled the trigger I could ring the barrel. Its a crapshoot, but now I use a patternmaster and like it.

 Re: Choke tubes
I used to shoot modified out of my old Beretta 390 with a 28" barrel and really liked it. I bought a case of Winchester Supreme #2's (the expensive stuff) one time and shot better than I ever have. I have since replaced that gun with a Beretta Xtrema 1 with a 26" barrel. I usually use a modified choke and shoot OK with the cheap or midrange shells like Xperts or Kent #2 1550 FPS. I bought another case of the Supreme's thinking that they would be great and I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. I'm not sure if my gun just doesn't like them or what. I seem to shoot much better during teal season when I put in my improved cylinder choke and shoot #4's. I don't really want to shoot that choke or shot size during the regular season because I am scared of too many cripples, but I will give the IC choke a try using the Supreme's during big duck season just to test it out (since I still have half a case). What shot size do y'all use and does anyone use improved cylinder? I have been looking at the Briley Decoy Choke that Cabelas sells (see link below) to see if that helps at all. I think it's constriction is between IC and modified. Has anyone used this choke? If the Briley doesn't help, I might have to stick with the cheap shells. Most of my shots are decoying birds in the marsh anywhere from 15-40 yards. It seems that most of yall are using a fuller choke than I'm used to but I would like any recommendations for an aftermarket choke around a modified constriction. I would also like y'alls opinion on how different shells pattern in different chokes. Thanks http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templ ... ISO-8859-1
