 Crawfishing in North La
What is the farthest north you guys have fished? I imagine it'll be a few more weeks before it is warm enough to try it out but think I'm gunna give it a shot. Where do I need to set my traps? In grassy sloughs a couple foot deep or hard bottom flooded woods? I know they are around cuz I've caught frogs with bellys full before.
Lastly, all Ive got is those pyramid traps with nets on the bottom. Not any good pillow traps. How are they gunna do?

I've thought hard about going to the bean field. It's all about 1-2' deep. Get up beside the banks in the willows.
But that's my thought and I don't know chit about it.

As long as the water isnt over the top then your good with pyramids but i would put them in a thick wooded area where nobody will see them cause if their seen they will get checked

I'm talking about the ones where it is just a net on the bottom with open sides. They have to sit on the bottom of the net and you pick it up real quick
