 Trinity river fishing spots for gar please help.

Post Trinity river fishing spots for gar please help.
My buddies and I are wanting to take a daytime fishing trip to the trinity and I need info. Is it best above or below Lake Trinity, or as far south as the salt mix around Moss Bluff? Never fished the trinity so all info is appreciated.

They are every where. Ive caught them in the bay and all up the river. I seen alot yesterday at the surface hanging out in the cut just north of lake charlotte
