^^ Agreed 100%. Lots of people go crazy for the latest and greatest load that comes out. It's marketing at work. Not saying those loads aren't every any good... But take me for example. Plain ole Kent steel loads patterned the best, so that's what I use. After patterning you'll have more confidence in your load as well. I know that out to 50yds my pattern still holds tight and when I hit a bird, he's almost always flat dead. I hardly ever have to shoot cripples because my pattern is so dense.

In the last few years I have shot Kent, Winchester Supreme, and Federal Ultra Shock and have killed nearly 200 ducks per year with each type. I can honestly say I don't notice a significant difference from one to the next and have never patterned my gun. I always shoot modified choke. I am of the belief if you can shoot a shotgun and take good shots any shell will do just about as good as the next.
